Since its establishment in 1997, Confindustria Assoimmobiliare has represented the entire real estate sector at the national level, bringing together operators active across all real estate asset classes. Its members include leading institutional investors — such as asset management companies, real estate funds, SICAFs, listed and unlisted real estate investment companies, and ReoCOs — as well as banks and insurance companies.

The Association also represents major Italian and international real estate developers; public and private entities managing large real estate portfolios; innovative PropTech companies; engineering and architectural firms; and leading professional advisory firms operating across the real estate sector, including asset valuation, due diligence, property management, brokerage, credit management, and legal and tax advisory services.

Confindustria Assoimmobiliare further includes foundations, organizations, and institutions whose activities and interests are connected to the real estate market through strategic, economic, or complementary relationships.

Confindustria Assoimmobiliare’s primary objectives are to support the growth of the real estate sector, recognizing the sector’s crucial role in the country’s overall economic development; to create a favorable environment for its members’ investments and to attract domestic and international capital for regional development and urban regeneration; representing and protecting the industry’s interests among institutional stakeholders; promoting the principles of sustainable and responsible real estate investment (SRPI) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles; supporting the green and digital transition of public and private real estate assets; promoting market transparency and the reputation of real estate operators; and training qualified professionals to serve the real estate sector.

The Association’s priority work areas are developed within its 25 committees and technical working groups, which meet monthly both in person and online. The Committees, chaired and composed exclusively of Members (currently, approximately 600 Member representatives actively participate in the Committees’ work), develop market analyses, in-depth studies on international best practices, position papers on policy issues, and regulatory proposals to support the real estate industry and the competitiveness of the national economy. Some working groups address issues of cross-cutting interest to the entire industry (Italian and European regulations, taxation, urban planning, credit, innovation, sustainability, diversity & inclusion, youth); others focus on specific asset classes (Residential, University Housing, Hotels, Retail, Logistics, Offices) or on specific types of operators (Intermediaries and regulated companies) or on specific services (Engineering & Project Management, Property Management, Advisory & Valuation, Real Estate Services for the Banking Sector); finally, others are dedicated to specific regional markets (Metropolitan Cities, Milan, Rome, and Turin).

The main documents produced by the Committees are published in the “Quaderni” section of the website.

To represent and promote the interests of the industry, the Association engages in constant and transparent institutional dialogue with the Government and Ministries, Parliament, regional administrations, major municipal administrations, the State Property Agency and the Revenue Agency, sector regulators, and European institutions. It drafts legislative proposals and amendments aimed at improving the legislative and regulatory framework within which operators conduct business, participates in parliamentary hearings and public consultations, submits parliamentary briefs, participates in technical roundtables with public administrations and regulators, promotes opportunities for dialogue with public decision-makers, and develops and disseminates policy and position papers on issues relevant to the industry.

The main documents produced in support of Public Affairs activities can be consulted in the Policy section of the association’s website.

Assoimmobiliare is a national, private, voluntary, non-profit association independent of any political movement, trade union, or religious denomination.
